Rest or visit the historic districts? (yes, there are two)

Resting is always a good idea on a rest day when you are riding your bike across the country.  However, there are many choices of what to do in Champaign, IL.   The beautiful modern downtown area is just a short bike ride away.  Lined with sidewalk cafe’s, you could stop coffee and goodies, or  lunch, on your way to ride through the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  With beautiful gardens, sprawling lawns and amazing old buildings, the ride is short, but refreshing.
