Day 14 – Cross Country Bike Tour – Albuquerque to Santa Fe, NM

67 miles, +4814/-3277 feet

12 days of riding – over 900 miles!

On day 14  riders are anxious for a rest day.  With 12 days of riding behind them totaling over 900 miles there is reason to both celebrate and rest.  Santa Fe is a great place to to just that.

Good conversations with the locals at our stop this morning.  Lots of interest in the journey and good stories about why people live in this part of the country.  It is nice here. There is a sense of calm.  The colorful little town of Madrid is a great example of that.  And, at forty-six miles into the ride, a good place to stop, enjoy the surroundings, and eat lunch.  Perhaps beer was enjoyed?

Again today we experienced mild temperatures with very little wind during the first part of the ride.

In typical tour style, it was all hands on deck to keep the wheels turning around noon. Fortunately, we all happened to be in the right place at the right time to take care of the mechanical business and get on with the business of riding cross country.
