Day 45 – Cross Country Bike Tour – Syracuse to Little Falls, NY
76 miles, +1660/-1680 feet
Very quite roads with wide smooth shoulders. The riders left Syracuse (actually the Village of Liverpool), traveling around a difficult section of road on a very nice bike trail to start off their cross country 4th of July ride. Fantastic!
We made a quick stop in Bridgeport to top of water bottles before riding along the shore of Oneida Lake. Just picture twenty miles of perfect roads in ideal weather with no traffic. Almost too good to believe….but believe it! After a nice time spent at the Big Dream Feed Zone, the riders stopped to take pictures at the Erie Canal.
To top off the day before heading for the hotel in Little Falls, we all stopped at Dunkin’ Donuts for a taste of our favorite treats.
Little Falls is a very quiet town sitting on the Mohawk River and Erie Canal. There are a few antique shops and restaurants, plus some pretty amazing old historic homes and buildings. Personally, I believe this would be the ideal spot for a summer home.
