Day 35 – Cross Country Bike Tour – Crawfordsville, IN to Indianapolis, IN

63 miles, +1245/-1163 feet

Today was jersey day which means our pictures are very colorful and fun!

Among the many comments heard today there are two that really stick out:Heading towards Indy

  1.  I wish I could bottle these roads.
  2.  This is the perfect cycling weather.

Number 1 doesn’t surprise me, because the roads were wonderful this morning.   Number 2 only surprises me because it was foggy this morning.  Not something I would expect to find in this area at all, and it was a perfect 70+ degrees.  In the Sacramento Valley, where I come from, fog means bone-chilling cold in January. Here, the foggy weather was truly ideal for cycling.

This is what our day looked like~

The riders had the pleasure to ride a section of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail which is such an amazing part of the downtown area.  It would be well worth the time to take an entire day to explore.  http://indyculturaltrail.org/

Tomorrow we’re out the door for a 68 mile ride to Richmond.  It’s hard to believe that two weeks from today it will all be over.  Wheels will have been dipped in the Atlantic Ocean.  Time, and the miles both pass quickly.

Fortunately, the memories last much longer.
